North Iraq Joint Response I

In January 2015, an alliance of Dutch NGOs existing of 13 INGOs started a North Iraq Joint Humanitarian Response (NIJR) funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and is part of the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA), to address the urgent and rapidly increasing humanitarian needs of the people in North Iraq. The proposed joint appeal to cover basic life-saving support over a period of 9 months and had targeted the most vulnerable people with essential, life-saving support in line with the 2015 IHRP.

Dorcas received EUR 794,790 for the implementation of a relief programme that will run from January 1 until September 30, 2015. Dorcas will adress immediate WASH, Shelter and NFI needs. Dorcas also provides hygiene support and awareness raising with a special focus on sexual and reproductive health.

Impact
Under the North Iraq Joint Response Dorcas was able to provide 960 households with shelter support, 3,811 households with NFI support (including winterization) and over 2,600 households with hygiene support and health awareness.
