At this moment we are specifically recruiting a:

Consortium Manager
(stationed in Zaporizhia, Ukraine with frequent travel within Ukraine)
Employment: 1.0 FTE
Duration: 12 months with possible renewal of contract
Starting date: as soon as possible

The Consortium Manager leads a humanitarian consortium programme led by Dorcas. The programme is funded by an institutional donor and implemented with two other INGOs and various local partners. The consortium runs a multisectoral humanitarian programme (Food Security and Livelihoods, Non-Food Items, Cash and Protection) and works towards Grand Bargain commitments. The Consortium Manager facilitates joint programming and the creation of added value leading to more efficient and effective delivery of humanitarian aid.

The Consortium Manager will be responsible for:

  • Strategy and programme development:
    • Design new consortium programmes and proposals for institutional donors;
    • Contribution to Dorcas programmes in line with Dorcas policies, Dorcas Annual Plan and with an eye on funding possibilities;
    • Developing new projects and proposals for institutional donors.
  • (Programme) management:
    • Managing and monitoring high quality implementation of the consortium programme;
    • Timely consolidation, analysis and submission of internal reports and reports to institutional donors according to their requirements;
    • Identifying joint programming opportunities and facilitate that;
    • Facilitating learning and innovation.
  • Networking and partnership building:
    • Facilitating common ground and cooperation among consortium members;
    • Linking local partners to the consortium and facilitate cooperation;
    • Identifying new opportunities for consortium collaboration;
    • Representing the consortium at relevant (UN) sector meetings;
    • Networking with relevant donors, government institutions and other stakeholders.
  • Finance and administration:
    • Analysis and monitoring of expenses by the consortium partners;
    • Consolidation of financial consortium reports in conjunction with the Dorcas finance department.

Job Requirements:

  • BSc or MA degree in Eastern European History/languages, International Relations or Humanitarian Action;
  • Minimum of 3 years international working experience, in particular in Eastern Europe;
  • Experience working in the humanitarian sector and/or knowledge of humanitarian standards and Grand Bargain is desired;
  • Enjoys networking and is an excellent partnership builder;
  • Experience with institutional fundraising;
  • Experience with coordination within the humanitarian sector is an asset;
  • Understanding of the Ukrainian political context is a benefit;
  • Eager to learn by doing;
  • Leadership skills, proactive attitude, flexible personality, sense of humour, strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written);
  • Command of Russian or Ukrainian is an asset;
  • Ability to travel and work in a cross-cultural environment;
  • As the Consortium Manager represents the consortium members respect for and/ or experience working with a Christian organization is desirable.

Dorcas offers a suitable pay and benefits package that is justifiable to our donors. Furthermore, you will be offered an initial 12 month contract. Depending on continued funding, your performance and fit with the programme and staff, the contract will be extended.
