South Sudanese students graduate in turbulent times

The conflicts between Sudan and South Sudan have intensified lately. But despite the conflicts, life also continues as usual. Last Friday, 77 students celebrated their graduation from the Dorcas' training center. Although most violence is concentrated to the border between Sudan and South Sudan, also in Wau the people are scared. Johan van Dam, country coordinator for Dorcas in South Sudan recalls: ‘The audience became restless when an Anatov plane from Sudan passed Wau during the ceremony. This type of plane dropped many bombs during the war, also close to the current training center.' The trainings offered by Dorcas enables students to look positively to the future and rebuild their livelihoods in a peaceful way after a long period of war.
